About the Domestic Volunteer role
Volunteer Manager: Support Worker / Support Services Manager
Time Commitment: Minimum of 2-4 hours per Month, we’d love it if you could do more. This can be agreed with the Support Services Manager
Available locations: In one of our 18 houses
How you make a difference
The feel good factor of helping Life provide a suitably clean space for the women and children living is supported accommodation
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the cleaning of the communal areas including the kitchen, lounge and bathrooms.
- Emptying and taking out bins
- Hoovering, wiping over the sides and tables.
- Role modelling for clients how to use cleaning equipment safely
- Ensure all Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to
- Acting as an ambassador for Life
The skills you'll need
No formal experience is needed, but a passion for cleaning and knowledge of how to use cleaning equipment safely is essential, as well as:
- Friendly and helpful
- Happy to be part of an amazing team
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team and use initiative
- Good listening and communication skills
- Patience and sensitivity
- Reliability

We do ask for two references as part of our commitment to safer recruitment.
