About the Domestic Volunteer role

Volunteer Manager: Support Worker or Area Services Manager

Available locations: You can join the team as a Domestic Volunteer at any of the following locations – Aylesbury House, Bath House, Belfast House, Bracknell House, Chertsey House (two), Crawley House, Didcot House (two), Farnborough House, Fleet House, Haywards Heath House, Littlehampton House, Northampton House, Oxford House, Slough House, St Albans House, Walsall House, Woking House.

Commitment: Minimum one hour per week; we’d love it if you could do more. This can be agreed with your volunteer manager.

What you'll be doing

  • Keeping the Life House’s communal areas (including kitchen, lounge, and bathrooms) clean. 
  • Emptying and taking out bins. 
  • Hoovering. 
  • Wiping down sides and tables. 
  • Role-modelling to clients how to use cleaning equipment safely. 

What you'll need

  • A friendly and helpful attitude. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Patience, sensitivity, reliability, and good listening and communication skills. 

You’ll need to complete an Enhanced DBS check for this role, which we’ll pay for.
