If you or someone you know needs help:

At Life, we support individuals facing pregnancy-related challenges — many of whom are navigating complex, vulnerable, and often overwhelming circumstances.

We want to be clear: we do not believe women should be criminalised in relation to abortion. Many of the individuals we support are already experiencing significant distress, and the threat of criminalisation can deepen fear, isolation, and barriers to seeking help.

At the same time, we have serious concerns about the wider implications of this proposed Bill for the vulnerable women we serve every day.

Through our frontline services, we regularly support women who feel under pressure, who lack stable support networks, or who are experiencing coercion, poverty, or abuse. These situations are often hidden, and not always visible from the outside.

Any changes in this area must carefully consider how such women are identified, safeguarded, and supported — particularly when they may be at risk of being overlooked.

Our experience tells us that vulnerability is often unseen. Without meaningful protection and practical support, there is a real risk that some women could face these situations alone, without access to compassionate, independent support.

At Life, our role remains non-political. We are here to provide a confidential, non-judgemental space where individuals can talk openly, explore their circumstances, and receive person-centred support tailored to their unique situation.

Whatever changes may come, it is essential that the needs of the most vulnerable women are not lost.

Thank you for standing with us as we continue to support those who need it most.
