Pilgrim’s Progress to Rome 2025
Walk for Life so we can walk with women in crisis
In Autumn 2025, our supporters will be walking part of the pilgrim route of the Italian Camino Via Francigena. You are invited to join us on this Pilgrim’s Progress to Rome charity fundraising trek!
This is part of an ancient pilgrimage route which goes from Canterbury to Rome. We’ll be travelling in the footsteps of so many others, as well as exploring some lesser-known parts of Italy.
Each step we take, we will be raising funds for Life, towards creating a world where no one faces pregnancy or pregnancy loss alone.

This exciting charity fundraising trek is open to anyone who wants to challenge themselves to support women in crisis in this unique way. The Via Francigena is a historical pilgrimage route aand for modern walkers it has come to symbolise a time of reflection, learning, self-discovery and fresh starts.
If you have an adventurous spirit and a compassionate heart, join us on Pilgrim’s Progress to Rome!

FAQ
We will be starting our pilgrimage trek on 20 September 2025, when we leave London for Rome. The trip is 8 days in total, with 5 days of walking and a final day to explore Rome and join in an optional expression of faith before returning to the UK.
The trek is 110km, or 68miles, which we will walk over five of the eight days of the adventure.
This trek is graded moderate with some challenging sections. You will be trekking long distances over varying terrain which includes some steep uphill sections, in hot weather conditions.
You will be walking for several hours a day and sometimes on steep gradients. Regular breaks are taken and we go at the pace the group needs, but the days will be long. You should train well before your departure, we’ll give support on different ways to prepare!
All flights and travel in Italy are included in the event fee. We will meet in London, fly to Rome together and be driven from Rome to our starting point at Vertibo, before walking back to Rome for the final day.
We hope to have an option for trekkers to stay in Rome for an extra day, either for free time in this beautiful city or to complete their pilgrimage with a trip to St. Peter’s Basilica.
Don’t worry! You’ll have until Autumn 2025 to get used to walking. We’ll offer support materials to assist you in your preparation.
You need to be over 18 to join this trek, although there may be opportunity for 16 and 17 year olds to join in if accompanied by their responsible adult. There is no upper age limit – all you need is to be confident that you can handle several hours a day of walking, sometimes on challenging ground and in hot weather.
We have two options:
Flexi
You would cover the £1,995 trek fee yourself and fundraise for the target of a further £1,995.
Sponsorship
You choose to fundraise £3,990 to cover the cost of the trek and the gift to Life.
